Voyager Productions, Ltd., Inc.

1998-present
President, Producer, Director

“The Face”
Produced and directed The Face: Jesus in Art, the EMMY Award winning documentary that traces the dramatically different ways in which Jesus Christ has been represented in art for almost 200 years. Fresh perspective is given to the documentary genre with camera’s interest in bathing the art in 3 dimensional light with no visible narrator. Religious icons that have never been filmed before are showcased.

Utilizing digital technology and filmed in 35mm wide screen, finished in HDTV, Dolby 5.1, DTS surround, it features magnificent visuals and a thundering soundtrack.

“The Face” was produced in two formats; a full length feature film which sold out Radio City Music Hall at its debut on March 31, 2001, and a two hour documentary which aired nationwide on April 15th to a huge audience on PBS stations.

Narrated by: Mel Gibson, Edward and Star Herrmann, Stacy Keach, Juliet Mills, Ricardo Montalban, Bill Moyers, and Patricia Neal. Vocals by: Andrea Bocelli, and several selections from “The Prayer Cycle” by Jonathan Elias featuring Linda Rondstadt, Devin Provenzano and The American Boys Choir, Ofra Haza and Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn.

Film Locations: St. Catherine’s Monastery, Sinai desert, Egypt, Catacombs and Vatican, Rome, Ravenna, Florence, Padua, Milan, Genoa, Italy, Chartres Cathedral, France, London, Oxford, and Milton-Keynes, England.

“The Body of Christ in the Art of Europe and New Spain 1150-1800” This 30 minute PBS special examines an exclusive art collection of representations of Jesus Christ from Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods. It was filmed in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and distinguishes itself in its genre by allowing a camera’s perspective of the art using extreme close ups, beautiful lighting and dramatic moves to tell the story of the art. The program airs every year at Christmas and Easter, establishing MacGowan’s talent for “Evergreen” productions.

“CBS Eye on People”
Wrote, produced, and directed a series of documentary interviews for the program: “A Day in the Life”, a weekly program featuring workers telling the story of their jobs and lives.
